Create Your Own Webpage

We have made it easier for you to collect sponsorship in support of people with MS, and to do so in a fast and fun way. Our new and improved online fundraising system allows you to customise your very own web page and to collect donations securely online.

Your personal web page will display:

Your name and your horse's name
Your personal fundraising goal
Your personal message
Photo of you and/or your horse
List of all your sponsors, the amount they donate and their personal message

Use the page to:

Send emails to friends, family and colleagues to collect donations
(NB: the email templates are already written for you - you just need to send them!)
Manage all offline and online fundraising
(NB: you can also enter donations received in person via cash or cheque/money order)
Receive an automatic email notification when any donation is made to support you

How do I create my own web page?

There are two easy ways:

Register online, provide an email address, username and password, and your web page will be created automatically
Post us your entry form in and we will create a page for you and send you your username and password by email

How do I collect donations online?

It's as easy as sending one email.

Simply send potential sponsors an email (write your own or use a template we have created) advising them of your participation in the 2009 Horseride. Include a link to your personal fundraising web page. Ask for
their support.

All they then do is click on the link to your page and select "donate now". After entering their personal details and actioning the donation transaction using their credit card, your sponsors will receive an automated email tax-deductible receipt immediately.

Hints for success

Set yourself a goal

Setting yourself a fundraising goal communicates to sponsors that you have a personal target to achieve, and you're serious about supporting the cause. Let your sponsors be a part of that experience of contributing towards something bigger than a simple donation. People donate because they respect the person asking them, and they too support the cause.

Make the first donation

Make the first donation yourself! "Put your money where your mouth is" and show your sponsors that you believe in what you're doing. Remember that the first donation amount often sets the precedent for donations that follow!

Fundraising online makes it easier for you to communicate your personal message and fundraising progress, and easier for your sponsors to show their support.
